Jesus is Arraigned Before the Sanhedrin

1874
Stained glass
Church of the Assumption, Windsor, Ontario, Canada

The image appears to collapse the actual arraignment of Jesus before Sanhedrin (represented by the man at left) and the beating he then received from their servants. The window is the third of three in the sacristy (apse) that present the Passion of Christ (see below).

This artist has adopted the practice, first seen in Renaissance Italian painting, of using a turban to characterize persons of the Middle East, whether Jewish or Moslem, of any historical era.
